The Gathering Place

Get together in the Gathering Place—the place you’ll find something to do every day of the week. From cozy movie nights to motion video games on the big-screen TV and card tournaments, there’s something for everyone here. The Gathering Place is also where you’ll toast friends over happy hour every other Friday, and throw private parties for special events. We also host educational presentations in the Gathering Place for residents interested in continued learning.

The Corner Pocket

Rack ’em up in The Corner Pocket, Independence Village’s own in-house billiards room, where pool sharks meet for a friendly game between friends or team up for a serious tournament.

Atrium

Our big, sunny atrium is just the place to enjoy exciting cultural and entertaining events. Feel free to play our grand piano, whether you’re a beginner or longtime performer. Special guests often stop by and put on a show, too, such as Big Entertainment’s Island Jeff and Deborah Rose, and twice a year Don Disantis’s Big Orchestra does a live concert just for our residents. The Atrium is also the site of Felecia Zimmerman’s art presentations, as well as the home of our Murder Mystery Dinner Theater events. And everyone loves to stop by during our Annual Dog Show, where some of the cutest and most talented canines in town show off for our residents and their guests. And whether there’s a special event going on or not, there’s a morning coffee klatch every day in the Atrium that’s always a good way to start the day.

Eagles Nest Library

Book lovers will appreciate the convenience of a library right at home. The Eagles’ Nest Library is run by a resident librarian, and is the place to gather for book club meetings for those who enjoy group discussions and sharing thoughts about literature and popular novels.

Sunrise Café

The Sunrise Café is always open, whether the sun’s just coming up or has just gone down. Stop in for a continental breakfast or a drink or snack any day, any time, we’re open 24/7.
