Walleye fishing in OhioOhio anglers are fortunate to have many lakes with populations of walleye. They include Alum Creek Lake, Berlin Lake, Buck Creek Lake, Caesar Creek Lake, Clendening Reservoir, Grand Lake St Marys, Lake Erie, Lake Milton, Mosquito Lake, Piedmont Reservoir, Pymatuning Lake, Rocky Fork Lake, Salt Fork Lake, Seneca Lake, Tappan Reservoir and West Branch Lake.

Additionally, you can find walleye in the rivers flowing into and out of some of these lakes. Lake Erie produced the Ohio state record walleye.

This toothy fish will eat virtually anything it can catch and get in its mouth. They prefer small fish and will eat crustaceans, worms and insects. They tend to be somewhat wary and prefer the safety of deeper darker water. Try fishing for walleye from sundown to midnight, particularly during the heat of summer.

Fish for Ohio walleye with live bait, crankbaits, spoons, small spinner baits as well as plastic worms and grubs.
